At the conclusion of his junior season, there was not a lot of recruiting activity going on with Alvin (Tex.) Manvel cornerback William Lockett.
Now that is a thing of the past.
This past off season, things exploded for Lockett, sometime picking up multiple offers in a single day. In the end and to date, he holds 16 offers. But none of that matters.
It seems as though things have come down to two.
You could say I’m down to two: UCLA and Missouri. I’m the top cornerback on the board for those two schools,” Lockett said.
With that, the 6-foot, 190-pound Lockett will visit both the Pac-12 and SEC program sooner than later, with Missouri up first with an August 30 (against South Dakota State). With the Bruins, Lockett said that he is still deciding when, but it will be sometime in early September.
“I have always liked UCLA. I was up there over the summer and loved it,” Lockett said. “With Missouri, I have developed a good relationship with the coaching staff and I want to get up there and see the campus and everything.”
Lockett is known for his physical play at the line of scrimmage, usually giving receivers no breathing room when he is in press coverage. He stated by the middle of September, he looks to have made his decision.
