OT Howard On Offers; Improvement

Green Cove Springs (Fla.) Clay High School class of 2015 offensive tackle prospect Michael Howard has offers from programs in the SEC and PAC-12 heading into his senior year. The 6-foot-6 and 250-pound made unofficial visits to four in-state programs this past off-season.

Green Cove Springs (Fla.) Clay High School class of 2015 offensive tackle Michael Howard has close to a dozen FBS scholarship offers heading into his senior year. The 6-foot-6 and 250-pound senior says he has three offers from programs out of the SEC and one out of the PAC-12.

”I have offers from a lot of people but Oregon, Tennessee, South Carolina, Florida and Missouri, those places stick out,” Howard said of his offers.

Howard also has offers from Maryland, UAB, Virginia and West Virginia. He has taken unofficial visits to Miami, Florida International, USF and Florida this off-season. The long but undersized lineman says he hasn’t decided on where he will take his five official visits yet and plans to see how things transpire this fall.

”I am kind of going to let it play out and see where everything falls,” Howard said.

Howard did say he would like to find a college home with a strong academic background.

”Their academics, what is that diploma going to mean after graduation,” answered Howard when asked what was most important to him in a college off the gridiron.

The still-growing upperclassman says he has tried to improve all aspects of his game this summer heading into pre-season camp.

”I don’t know about strengths. You can always improve everywhere but I guess I am a better run blocker right now. You just have to come out and get better at everything you do,” Howard said of his game.
