Missouri assistant coach Pat Washington had been talking to 2015 LB prospect Joseph Prevost 6’1” 220 Marrero (LA) Archbishop Shaw for a couple of months. But, the Missouri staff wanted to see Prevost in person before they offered, so last Saturday, Prevost and his parents took an unofficial visit to Missouri. Missouri liked what they saw, and the Tigers offered the speedy LB prospect. Now, Prevost tells ShowMeMizzou.com what he thinks of that offer, and he talks about the current status of his recruitment.
“I love Missouri! I was excited to get the Missouri offer,” said Prevost, who went on the talk about how he received the Missouri offer. “Based on my film, the Missouri staff thought I was smaller. When they saw me in person, they offered me (immediately).”
Prevost currently holds offers from Arkansas State, Houston, Kansas State, McNeese State, Memphis, Northern Illinois, South Alabama, Southern Miss, Tulane, Tulsa, UTEP, and Western Kentucky, in addition to Missouri. He’s also been hearing from Mississippi State, and Texas A&M, among others.
Prevost reports personal bests of 4.52 seconds in the 40-yard dash, to go along with a 35” standing vertical, and a maximum in the bench press of 350 pounds. Prevost also runs track at Shaw, and he’s posted a personal best of 11.3 seconds in the 100 meters.
“It was a great visit,” Prevost said of his trip to Missouri. “(Missouri) is a top-notch program for sure. I think it’s one of the best in the country, if not the best.”
Prevost plans to take an official visit to Missouri following his senior season. In the meantime, he intends to make a decision within the next week or so. He said that Missouri is his top school.
“Missouri is my leading school,” explained Prevost. “The Missouri coaches said that they can use someone with my size and speed.”
