Florida WR King Discusses Mizzou

Florida WR Damian King shares the latest on his recruitment and the Missouri Tigers

Recently, ShowMeMizzou.com spoke with 2015 WR prospect and Missouri offer Damian King 5’11” 170 Largo (FL) Indian Rocks Christian. King confirmed that he’s had a Missouri offer since late spring, and the talented multi-purpose, multi-sport athlete talked about his interest in Missouri. And, he updated us on the current status of his recruitment.

“I like (Missouri) a lot,” said King. “Actually, I love it!”

Missouri already has a receiver on their roster from Indian Rocks Christian, in starting tight end Sean Culkin, so King is very familiar with Missouri. And, he said that he speaks regularly with Missouri assistant coach Brian Jones.

“They’re recruiting me as an athlete,” explained King, speaking of Missouri. “But Coach Jones said that they’re pushing for me on the offensive side, as a slot guy and a return guy.”

King said that he currently holds offers from Ball State, FAU, FIU, Indiana, Kansas State, Pittsburgh, South Florida, Syracuse, UAB, and West Virginia, in addition to Missouri.

I asked him if he has a list of favorites from among those that have offered?

“Missouri is my favorite, along with Pittsburgh and USF,” explained King. “But, Missouri is my number one.”

King said that he speaks with Coach Jones “about every week”.

“Coach Jones said that he wants me to visit after the season,” said King, who acknowledged that he’s becoming more acquainted with Sean Culkins. “People tell me that when I visit Missouri, I’m going to fall in love with it.”

King said that he attended a camp at Pittsburgh this summer, where he ran a 4.53-second 40-yard dash. He has been timed at 3.9 seconds in the 5-10-5 shuttle. He has shown the ability to stick his foot in the ground, change direction, and accelerate. He plays multiple positions on both sides of the football, including QB, RB, WR, and DB. He makes people miss in the open field.

King also plays basketball and runs track. Last spring, he ran a 10.98-second 100 meters.

King is looking forward to visiting Missouri after the season.
