Recently, longtime Missouri offer and 2015 WR prospect Ryan Davis 6’0” 170 St. Petersburg (FL) Lakewood took a few minutes to speak with ShowMeMizzou.com, and he updated us on his recruitment, including his interest in Missouri.
Davis said that he is still considering Missouri, and that he speaks to Missouri assistant coach Brian Jones on a weekly basis.
“I like it that Missouri is in the SEC,” said Davis. “And, I like the fact that they spread the ball around, and really pass the ball more. You know, something that fits the way I play. You know, they’re going to get the ball to their playmakers.”
Davis said that Missouri is recruiting him to play in the slot.
“Coach Jones says that I’m a high priority for Missouri,” said Davis. “They need somebody for the slot position, somebody that is an after the catch type play maker.”
Davis has a long list of suitors, including offers from Arizona, Florida, Florida Atlantic, Florida International, Florida State, Iowa State, Kentucky, Marshall, Miami (FL), Michigan State, Mississippi State, North Carolina State, Nebraska, Ohio State, Ole Miss, South Florida, Syracuse, Tennessee, Texas Tech, Toledo, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, Washington State, West Virginia, and Wisconsin, among others, in addition to Missouri.
Davis has yet to narrow things down in his recruitment. He said he’s still wide open.
“I haven’t narrowed it down,” explained Davis. “I’m still keeping my options wide open.”
Earlier this spring, Davis was timed at 4.37 second in the forty, to go along with personal bests of 38” in the standing vertical jump, a 3.9-second 5-10-5 shuttle, and a 9’11” standing broad jump.
He was unsure if he’ll take an official visit to Missouri.
“It’s a possibility that I’ll take an official visit to Missouri,” said Davis. “It would be after the season.”
Davis said that he doesn’t have a specific timetable for a decision.
