MIssouri On Solid Ground With James

Missouri Tiger coaches are out on the road this week recruiting. ShowMeMizzou.com spoke with a prospect from Indiana who gave us the update on Mizzou and his recruitment.

Earlier this week, ShowMeMizzou.com spoke with Missouri offer and 2015 CB prospect Isaac James 5’11” 184 Carmel (IN), who updated us on his recruitment, and his interest in Missouri.

James said that he speaks weekly with Missouri assistant coach Cornell Ford.

“I’ve been talking to Coach Ford,” said James. “We’re working on a date that I can come down and see a game. Actually, (Coach Ford) is going to be at my school on Wednesday. He told me that I’m one of their top guys, and that he’d love me at Mizzou.”

James currently holds offers from Air Force, Army, Ball State, Illinois, Indiana, Miami (OH), Navy, Northwestern, Ohio, Purdue, Toledo, Western Michigan, and Wisconsin, among others, in addition to Missouri.

“I think an offer to play corner at Missouri is a huge opportunity,” said James. “The SEC is known for having a lot of defensive backs that go to the NFL.”

James is a good student who also competes in track for his high school. He’s posted personal bests of 10.80 seconds in the 100 meters, and 23’4” in the long jump, to go along with a 4.40-second 40-yard dash, a 37” standing vertical jump, a 4.20-second 5-10-5 shuttle, and a maximum in the bench press of 285 pounds.

James said that he has visited Illinois, Indiana, Northwestern, Purdue, and Wisconsin. He’s planning to take an unofficial visit to Missouri for a game later in the season. If he doesn’t make it for a game, he said he’ll take an official visit to Missouri after the season.

“Missouri is still in my top choices,” explained James. “They still stand on good ground with me. They’re definitely a competitive school in a competitive conference. I just need to go see what their academics and environment is like before I make the decision.”
