On Thursday, in the midst of making preparations for his official visit to Michigan State this weekend, 2015 DE prospect Reuben Jones 6’3” 220 Lakeland (FL) Lake Gibson received an offer from Missouri. Not long after, Jones spoke with ShowMeMizzou.com, and he talked about how the Missouri offer has changed the picture of his recruitment. He said that before Missouri assistant coach Brian Jones informed him of the Missouri offer, he had pretty much narrowed things down to Nebraska and Michigan State.
“I think pretty highly of the Missouri offer,” explained Jones. “That’s another SEC school. I’m looking at it as it might be something to jump at because they’re a pretty good program…………………………………… I just need to go to sleep on it. But (Missouri) is really high (on my list).”
Jones said that Missouri’s been looking at him for a while.
Jones currently holds offers from Ball State, Cincinnati, Duke, FAU, FIU, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa State, Kentucky, Marshall, Michigan State, Nebraska, Purdue, Syracuse, Temple, UCF, USF, Wake Forest, and West Virginia, in addition to Missouri.
Jones reports a personal best of 4.68 seconds in the 40-yard dash, to go along with a 33” standing vertical jump, and a bench max of 335 pounds.
Jones has taken a official visits to UCF and Nebraska, and he is taking his official visit to Michigan State this weekend. He was considering taking a visit to West Virginia.
Jones said that the Missouri offer is making him stop and think. He said that he’s definitely “considering Missouri”.
“Before Missouri came with an offer, it was Nebraska and Michigan State,” explained Jones. “That was my top schools.”
At this point, Jones isn’t sure if he will visit Missouri or not. He sounded like he wanted to take some time to think about it.
“Missouri just offered me today,” explained Jones. “I’m thinking about a Missouri visit, but I’m not sure right now……………………………………….. I am considering Missouri.”
Jones said that he’s not sure when he’ll be making a decision.
