Over the weekend, junior college DE prospect Allen Edwards 6’4” 235 Franklin (MA) Dean College took an official visit to Missouri. After he returned home, he spoke with ShowMeMizzou.com about his Missouri visit, and his interest in Missouri. And, he updated us on the current status of his recruitment.
“(My Missouri visit) was pretty breathtaking,” said Edwards. “It was better than I expected. The guys were great! Lots of laughs. It’s family oriented. They showed me around the campus. You know, the weight room, the therapy room. It’s just impossible to fail there, football-wise, academic-wise. They just make you an overall successful person.”
Edwards said that the Missouri-Arkansas game was the best college football game he’d ever been to. And, he enjoyed his time in the locker room following the game.
“Best game I’d ever been to,” said Edwards. “Being in the locker room afterwards was great! Great to witness.”
Edwards, who is from Miami (FL), currently holds offers from FAU, FIU, Idaho, North Texas, Rhode Island, UMass, and Western Kentucky, among others. He said that Michigan State is close to offering. He’ll take an official visit to Michigan State this weekend with the expectation that the Spartans will offer.
Edwards is not as close to making a decision. He’s still weighing his options, and he’s waiting to see what his options will look like in January.
He identified Missouri as his top school at present, followed by North Texas, Western Kentucky, Michigan State, and UMass.
“I like Missouri,” said Edwards. “But I’m not going to make any choices until January.”
