Missouri Offer Leads To Planned Visit

The Missouri Tigers have entered the race for a talented rising athlete from the Southeast. He tells us what his thoughts and plans are with his recruitment.

A little more than a week ago, Missouri extended a scholarship offer to 2015 WR prospect Jared Pinkney 6’5” 220 Norcross (GA). ShowMeMizzou.com spoke with the talented wide-out, and he shared his thoughts about the Missouri offer. He also talked about his interest in Missouri, and he updated us on his recruitment.

Pinkney holds “close to 20 offers”, including Georgia State, Jacksonville State, Marshall, Miami (FL), Miami (OH), Minnesota, Nebraska, Purdue, UCF, and Vanderbilt, among others, in addition to Missouri.

Pinkney talked about receiving the news of a Missouri offer from Missouri assistant coach Alex Grinch.

“I was real excited (to receive a Missouri offer),” explained Pinkney. “I was very excited. I was running around the house.”

Pinkney said that he’s going to visit Missouri, but that he’s not sure when.

“I’m going to talk to my mom, and we’re going to decide on a date,” said Pinkney.

He’s already visited Nebraska. He’s planning the take four more official visits before he makes a decision. In addition to Missouri, he named Minnesota, UCF, Vanderbilt and Purdue as possible destinations.

“I’m probably going to take all five (official visits),” explained Pinkney.

Pinkney allowed that Missouri is already in his top five schools. He said that Missouri being in the SEC, and being a school that throws the football are a couple of factors affecting his interest in Missouri.

Pinkney is a former high jumper and sprinter for his school’s track team. But now, he’s focused solely on football. His best forty time is 4.52 seconds, and he reported a personal best 36” standing vertical, to go along with a 4.27-second 5-10-5 shuttle time, a bench press maximum of 300 pounds, and a squat max of 455 pounds.
