Florida Speedster Names Mizzou Among Top 4

The Missouri Tigers are looking to add more speed to their 2015 football recruiting class. We have an update on a Florida target.

Earlier this week, we reported that 2015 slot receiver prospect Jalen Julius 6’0” 175 Winter Garden (FL)West Orange has scheduled an official visit to Missouri for the weekend of December 12th. Julius spoke with ShowMeMizzou.com, and he talked about his interest in Missouri, and he updated us on his recruitment.

“Missouri offered me during the season,” said Julius, who has been speaking with Missouri assistant coach Brain Jones. “Around October.”

Julius said that this week, he’s beginning to speak with Missouri receivers coach Pat Washington.

“I think Missouri would be a great fit for me,” explained Julius, who is also a return specialist. “It’s a good school, and they’ve been to back-to-back SEC Championship games.”

Julius told me that his best time in the 40-yard dash was 4.31 seconds. He’s also been timed at 10.8 seconds in the 100 meters. He reported a personal best of 4.00 seconds in the 5-10-5 shuttle.

“Coach (Jones) told me that they’re going to show me the Depth Chart when I come up there,” said Julius. “I know I have a chance to play early there.”

Julius named Ole Miss, Louisville, and Miami as the other schools he is currently considering. He’s visiting Louisville on December 5th, and Ole Miss at the end of January.

Julius said that he’ll probably wait until the end of the recruiting cycle to make a decision.
