Perkins Talks Future Following Mizzou Visit

Longtime Missouri verbal commit, 2015 athlete Ronnell Perkins from University City (MO) spoke with following his official visit to Missouri.

Among the several official visitors that Missouri hosted last weekend was a longtime Missouri verbal commit, in 2015 athlete Ronnell Perkins 6’2” 190 University City (MO). Following his official visit to Missouri, the very talented and explosive athlete spoke with about his Missouri visit, and he also talked about his plans for the next few months.

“My Missouri visit went good,” said Perkins. “It was cool. I liked it! I had fun. I was full the whole weekend. I ate good! They filled me up. And, I had fun with Shaun (Rupert), too!”

“They just told me to come in and work hard,” explained Perkins.

Perkins chose Missouri over scholarship offers from Illinois, Iowa, Kansas State, Kentucky, Memphis, Northern Illinois, and Purdue.

Perkins intimated that coaches on both sides of the ball are lobbying for his services.

“Coach Washington talks a good game,” said Perkins, speaking of Missouri’s wide receiver coach. “He’s fighting for me. They’re leaning toward safety for me, but he’s fighting for me. He told me that the whole receiver corps is going to be young, so I’ve got a chance to get on the field right away.”

Perkins said that he watched film with Missouri safeties coach Alex Grinch.

“He showed me what they’re doing,” said Perkins, speaking of his skull session with Coach Grinch. “He said that he can see me playing safety.”

Perkins said that he is 100% solidly committed to Missouri. He’s not taking any more visits. He’s done with recruiting. He’ll sign with Missouri in February, and report to the Tigers in June.

Perkins is planning to run track this spring with the goal in mind to improve upon his 10.9-second 100 meters from a year ago.

He’s looking forward to getting on campus at Missouri and getting started.
