A pair of teammates from Nashville (TN) with ties to the Missouri program are planning to attend the Tigers’ Junior Day this weekend.
ShowMeMizzou.com spoke with Christ Presbyterian Academy teammates Joseph Richard and Zack Weatherly, each of whom have confirmed their plans to visit Missouri this Saturday. The 6’3” 195-pound Richard is a 2016 WR/S prospect and the brother of current Missouri wide-receiver Thomas Richard. The 6’2” 180-pound Weatherly is a two-year starter at QB for the Lions, and a former teammate of current Missouri offensive lineman Paul Adams, as well as the elder Richard.
“Missouri’s recruiting me,” said Richard, who confirmed that he has been speaking with Missouri Receivers Coach Pat Washington. “Once Missouri offers me, they’ll be in my top three for sure.”
Richard said that he likes Missouri and that his brother “likes it a lot” at Missouri.
Weatherly is an athletic 2016 QB prospect. This past season, he completed 69% of his passes and threw for 29 TDs against just 3 interceptions as he led the Lions to an undefeated (15-0) season and a Class 3A state championship. He said that Coach Washington stopped by CPA a couple of weeks ago, and that he’s also been speaking with the Missouri QB coach.
Weatherly said that the Missouri coach told him that he’s one of their top QB targets. He said that once Missouri offers, “the chances are actually pretty high” that he would go ahead and commit to Missouri.
Weatherly and Richard are yet to receive offers. It’s still early in their recruitment. But both of them told ShowMeMizzou.com that they are talking to and being recruited by quite a number of schools, including schools from the SEC and ACC.
Both prospects are excited about and looking forward to their unofficial visit to Missouri.
