Last June, ShowMeMizzou.com reported that Missouri had offered 2016 S/LB prospect Isaiah Simmons 6’3” 210 Olathe (KS) North. Earlier that month, Simmons had impressed the Missouri staff during one of their camps. Missouri assistant coach Andy Hill had informed Simmons that the Missouri staff wanted him to be a Missouri Tiger.
Recently, Simmons reminded ShowMeMizzou.com that Missouri was the first school to offer him a scholarship.
“Missouri was the first one to offer me a scholarship,” said Simmons. “It was at the end of last June. I was pretty excited when Missouri offered me.”
Simmons was the first local 2016 prospect that the Tigers offered.
Last spring, Simmons was the state champion in the long jump with a self-reported personal best of 23’2”. His self-reported personal best in the 40-yard dash is 4.53 seconds, and he’s posted a 38” standing vertical jump, as well.
Simmons currently holds offers from Illinois, Iowa State, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska. He’s been hearing from a number of other schools, including Auburn, Florida State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Oklahoma State, among others.
Simmons said that he doesn’t have any favorites at this time. And, that he hasn’t taken any visits. He said that he’s planning to investigate his options this summer. He said that he’s not sure which schools he’ll visit.
“I don’t know much about any of the schools,” explained Simmons. “Every school is the same right now.”
