On Tuesday, 2016 DE prospect Jordan Greenlee 6’4” 230 Napa (CA) Vintage took an unofficial visit to Missouri. Afterwards, he spoke with ShowMeMizzou.com about his visit, and his interest in Missouri, and he updated us on the current status of his recruitment.
“(My Missouri) visit was really good,” explained Greenlee. “It was great! I loved everything about (Missouri).”
Greenlee said that Missouri Defensive Line Coach Craig Kuligowski had reached out to him, and had encouraged him to come visit Missouri. Greenlee, who will turn 17 in June, said that he’s still growing. He also explained that he had transferred to Vintage from a small school last August, and that he wasn’t cleared to play football until mid-season.
“Coach Kool saw my highlight film,” explained Greenlee, who said that he has some extended family in the Lee’s Summit area. “I guess he liked it.”
Greenlee also plays basketball at Vintage.
During his Missouri visit, he toured the campus and the facilities, and he watched practice, and spoke with the coaches.
“Coach Pinkel thanked me for coming, and he commented that he liked my size,” explained Greenlee. “Coach Kool was showing me some pass-rushing things, and he talked about what I would be doing as a defensive end at Missouri.”
Missouri has yet to offer Greenlee. At present, Greenlee holds offers from Harvard, Montana, and Northern Arizona. He’s also receiving interest from Cal, Columbia, Stanford, and “most of the Mountain West schools”, among others.
Greenlee said that he’ll be talking to Coach Kuligowski in the weeks ahead. And, he said that he expects that Missouri coaches will be out to California to watch him later this spring.
Greenlee said that he liked everything about Missouri.
“If I was to be offered by Missouri, that’d be my number one choice right now,” said Greenlee. “Honestly, I liked everything about it. I feel like Missouri would be the best fit for me, so far. I really liked Coach Ivey, the strength and conditioning coach. The thing that really stood out to me is the way they are a team, and how they really push each other. I really like that! And I really like the academic support…………………………………………. I really like all the time that the coaches and the academic support staff put into it so that the players can get all the help they need. That really stood out to me and made me feel comfortable……………………………………… As of right now, Missouri would be my number one school.”
Greenlee is not in a hurry to make a final decision. He intends to re-visit Missouri, possibly for camp. He feels that Missouri is very interested in him, and he’s willing to wait to see what other schools will offer before he makes a decision.
