On Friday, 2016 LB prospect Tyrel Dodson 6’2” 230 Franklin (TN) Centennial received word of a Missouri offer. Not long after, he spoke with ShowMeMizzou.com, and he talked about the Missouri offer, and his interest in Missouri, and he updated us the current status of his recruitment.
“I really thought the Missouri offer was pretty amazing! I just think it was pretty good getting my first SEC offer,” said Dodson. “One of my teammates committed to play football there, so I think that’s pretty cool.”
Dodson acknowledged that he’s “pretty good friends” with the Missouri WR signee from Centennial, Emanuel Hall.
Dodson currently holds offers from Arkansas State, Austin Peay, Colorado State, Eastern Kentucky, Illinois, Illinois State, Memphis, Mercer, Middle Tennessee State, and New Mexico State, among others, in addition to Missouri. Tennessee and Vanderbilt are also showing interest.
He acknowledged that Missouri is his best offer at present. He also said that if Tennessee were to offer, the Vols would immediately become one of his favorites.
Dodson reported having been clocked in the 40-yard dash in the 4.6-second range. He also reported a personal best in the bench press of 405 pounds. He projects as an inside LB in college.
“I love to hit!” explained Dodson, describing how he plays.
Dodson named Missouri assistant coach Pat Washington as his primary recruiter.
Dodson is planning to take an unofficial visit to Missouri for the Spring Game.
“I’m going to try to come to the Missouri Spring Game with Emanuel (Hall),” explained Dodson.
He said that he’s “not sure” when he’ll make a decision. He indicated that it’s still early in his recruitment, and it will probably be after his senior season before he chooses a school.
