The Missouri Tigers had an unofficial visit today from St. Louis (MO) CBC RB Tre Bryant 5'9" 195 at their spring practice. Bryant, who I have as the top overall prospect in the state of Missouri for the class of 2016 this spring, spoke with ShowMeMizzou.com about his day in CoMo.
"It went really well," said Bryant. "It was more of a personal visit. I spoke with Coach Pinkel for fifteen minutes, and I ate lunch with Coach Ford.Coach Pinkel and I talked about football, but also topics outside of football, like the everyday life of a student athlete, and the environment around Mizzou. Coach Ford and I talked just to get to know each other better."
"I also toured the facilities and went to the RB meeting before practice, and then watched practice.I really enjoyed the atmosphere. I talked with Coach Jones (Mizzou running backs coach) about Mizzou's system and how they use their RBs. I think I would fit very well," Bryant said.
I asked Tre what stood out the most for him on the day?
"The practice. I noticed how that all of the players were giving 110%. It shows they truly want to get better as a team, and are hungry to make and even bigger statement in the SEC and overall college football world," said Bryant.
Bryant has told me before that he planned to make a decision closer to the start of his senior season beginning. I asked if today may have changed his timeline for a decision?
"I still plan on keeping the time of my decision the same, but today's visit has put Mizzou high on my list. It was a great visit!"
So, what is next for Tre Bryant this spring regarding his recruitment?
"I am still keeping my recruitment open. I have Kansas State on April 13th, then I am headed back to Mizzou for the spring game. And then Indiana on the 19th. Some new schools; Stanford, Boise State and Nevada have shown new interest recently, "said Bryant.
