Mizzou Stops In To See Guard Prospect

2016 basketball prospect talks about his recruitment by Missouri.

On Thursday, during the 12-hour recruiting window, Missouri Assistant Coach Rob Fulford stopped in to see 2016 SG prospect K.J. Walton 6’3” 193 Brownsburg (IN) at his open gym. Afterwards, Walton spoke with ShowMeMizzou.com, and he talked about his interest in Missouri, and he updated us on the current status of his recruitment.

“Coach Fulford came to see me (on Thursday),” said Walton. “We talked about Missouri, the school and the (basketball) program. He went in-depth about everything. We talked about everything, how I’d fit in, and everything.”

Walton currently holds offers from Minnesota and Xavier. He’s also hearing from Cincinnati, as well as Missouri, among others.

“I really like Missouri,” explained Walton. “I like Missouri a lot!”

He’s planning to remain in close contact with Missouri over the next week or so.

“Coach Fulford is actually going to talk to my mom tonight,” explained Walton. “I’ll be texting him every day, and probably talk to him over the weekend.”

Walton said that he’d like to take a visit to Missouri.

“They want me to come visit,” said Walton, although he did not as yet have an exact visit date. “I definitely want to get down there and visit, to see all the coaches, and see how it feels to me.”

Walton is seriously considering Missouri. He said that he’ll probably wait until after the beginning of the late signing period to make a decision.

“I’m very interested in Missouri,” said Walton. “It could happen. We’ll see how it plays out.”
