Yesterday, ShowMeMizzou.com reported on the Missouri Tigers offering 2016 OG/C prospect Trystan Castillo 6'4" 287 from Webb City (MO), and his thoughts on the offer and where his recruitment was heading. Following a good nights sleep to think about it, Castillo realized he didn't need to wait any longer.
"I almost committed yesterday to be honest," said Castillo." There were times when I wanted to do it, but I was going to not jump at it right away and think things over, maybe visit K-State next week, but after the three hour car ride and sleeping on it, I knew this morning I needed to call Coach Pinkel and commit. So, when I woke up, I told my Mom that I was going to call him, and she was super happy and said that she thought that I would do this.""Also, this morning on my way to a friend's house, I saw my Coach Roderique, and I stopped and spoke with him about what I was going to do, and he said he was very happy and supportive. He was a big reason I went ahead and committed too."
Trystan said that Missouri coaches were very happy.but not surprised to hear from him so soon.
" I told the Missouri yesterday, if I were you guys, I would stay on your phones this week because you could be hearing from me," said Castillo with a laugh. "So, today I messaged Coach Ricker and Coach Henson, and told them that I was going to call Coach Pinkel and commit. They were both very happy and excited that I was ready to become a Tiger. So I called Coach Pinkel and told him the news, and he was also really happy and excited. We talked for a little bit and he told me to remember that this was not just a 4-5 year deal, but that I was going to be Mizzou Made and a Tiger for a lifetime," Castillo said.
Castillo actually has known for some time in his heart that it was Mizzou for him.
"I really enjoyed my unofficial visit back in January. I fell in love with the school and program on my visit then. This difference is that I did not have an offer then, or else I probably would have committed at that time. Yesterday just sealed the deal. I called all my other recruiting coaches and told them about my commitment. I am done and will not be taking any other visits."
