ShowMeMizzou.com spoke with recent Missouri offer and 2016 LB prospect Trey Baldwin 6’3” 224 Houston (TX) Cypress Falls. He talked about the Missouri offer and his interest in Missouri, and he updated us on the current status of his recruitment.
“The Missouri offer grabbed my attention,” explained Baldwin. “My uncle and I are going to fly out there next Monday (June 8th) for an unofficial visit to see the campus and the facilities.”
Baldwin identified Missouri Assistant Coach A.J. Ricker as his primary recruiter. He’s also spoken with Missouri Defensive Coordinator and Linebacker Coach Barry Odom. He said that Coach Ricker came to his school this spring to watch him practice.
Baldwin is a multi-sport athlete (basketball, football, track) who reported a personal best of 4.69 seconds in the 40-yard dash, to go along with a 33” standing vertical jump, a 4.18-second 5-10-5 shuttle, and a 265-pound bench press.
Baldwin is not only a good student who is on pace to graduate in December and enroll in college in January, he’s also an extremely coachable athlete. He talked about his expectations of his upcoming unofficial visit.
“The Missouri coaches want me to come down there and check everything out and see how I like it,” explained Baldwin. “And then, we’ll go from there.”
Baldwin said that he’s ready to make a decision, and would like to have that done before his senior season.
“I want to go into the season knowing where I’m going to go,” said Baldwin. “I’ll be making my decision shortly.”
“I’m really ready for college,” continued Baldwin. “But I’m not in a rush.”
