On Thursday, while on an unofficial visit to Missouri, 2016 OG prospect Mackenzie Nworah 6’4” 305 Manvel (TX) informed ShowMeMizzou.com that he had committed to the Tigers. Later, he talked to ShowMeMizzou.com about his decision to become a Missouri Tiger.
Nworah said that his Missouri visit convinced him that he wanted to be “Mizzou Made”.
“It wasn’t my original plan (to commit),” explained Nworah. “My original plan was just to go (to Missouri) and soak everything in, and then come back home. But I had the green light if everything there was great. And so I made my decision.”
A big factor in Nworah’s decision to attend Missouri is the 5-year Physical Therapy program that Missouri offers. He told ShowMeMizzou.com that he intends to become a physical therapist. Another big factor in Nworah choosing Missouri is his relationship with Missouri Offensive Line Coach A.J. Ricker.
“Everything was great (at Missouri),” explained Nworah. “The coaches. Coach Ricker took me around everywhere and showed me the campus and the renovations and everything. And, they had what I wanted to study. I just felt it’s a great place to go to school.”
Nworah, whose father is from Nigeria, and who has spent time in Nigeria while growing up, chose Missouri over offers from Arizona State, Boston College, Colorado, Houston, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas State, Louisiana Tech, Maryland, Oklahoma State, Purdue, SMU, Texas State, Texas Tech, and Utah State.
“I talked to Coach Pinkel before and after I committed,” explained Nworah. “He was really excited for me……………………………….. After I committed, he said to me, “Welcome to the family”.”
Nworah said that he and his family will take an official visit to Missouri later. He’s done with his recruitment. And, he said that after he signs with Missouri in February, he’ll arrive at Mizzou next June.
