Donte Vaughn Updates On His Missouri Interest

Memphis defender updates on his recruitment and interest in the Missouri Tigers.

Recently, spoke with Missouri offer and 2016 CB prospect Donte Vaughn 6’3” 192 Memphis (TN) Whitehaven. Vaughn talked about his interest in Missouri, and he updated us on the current status of his recruitment.

“Missouri offered me about two months ago,” said Vaughn. “Missouri’s a pretty good school, from what I hear. I have a friend there, who just recently started going there, Johnathon Johnson. We grew up together, went to the same middle school.”

Vaughn identified Missouri Defensive Coordinator Barry Odom as his primary recruiter.

“We had developed a pretty good relationship when he was at Memphis,” explained Vaughn, referring to Coach Odom. “I talked to Coach Odom last week. He wants me to come there for a visit. My parents and I have been thinking about (visiting Missouri) sometime in July.”

Vaughn currently holds offers from Auburn, Cincinnati, Indiana, LSU, Miami, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, West Virginia, and Wisconsin, among others, in addition to Missouri.

Vaughn also plays basketball and runs track, in addition to playing on both sides of the football, for Whitehaven. He reported a personal best of 4.56 seconds in the 40-yard dash, to go along with a 32” standing vertical. He has a personal best of 6’5” in the high jump.

The highly sought after Vaughn has just narrowed his list of schools to include Auburn, LSU, Mississippi State, Missouri, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Texas A&M.
