“It’s going pretty well with Missouri,” explained Okwuegbunam. “They’re definitely up there with my top schools. I’m definitely considering (Missouri) really heavily.”
Okwuegbunam currently holds offers from Cincinnati, Indiana, Iowa, Iowa State, Miami, (OH), Michigan State, Minnesota, Nevada, Northern Illinois, Ohio, Southern Mississippi, Syracuse, Toledo, Western Kentucky, Western Michigan, and Wyoming, in addition to Missouri.
He said that he doesn’t currently have a narrowed list of schools, but he did say that “Missouri is definitely up there”.
He’s previously taken an unofficial visit to Missouri, and he’s also visited several other schools, including Iowa, Iowa State, Michigan State, and Minnesota. He said that he’d like to take another unofficial visit to Missouri this month.
“I might go visit Missouri this summer, in late July,” said Okwuegbunam. “But if not, I’m almost positive I’m going to go see a (Missouri) game.”
Okwuegbunam told ShowMeMizzou.com that he’s mostly speaking with Missouri Offensive Coordinator Josh Henson.
“That’s going pretty good,” explained the athletic tight end prospect. “Coach Henson wants me to come for another visit before the season.”
Okwuegbunam weighed in at 223 pounds and posted a 4.54-second 40-yard dash at a recent Michigan State camp, to go along with a 9’9” standing broad jump.
Okwuegbunam said that he’ll likely take his official visit to Missouri following the season. He said that his final decision will probably have to wait until after the season, as well.
