Alabama WR Chris Black Transferring to Mizzou

The Missouri Tigers added some experience to their receiving corps on Monday with a commitment from an Alabama transfer.

The Missouri Tigers added a commitment from a former four-star wide receiver when Chris Black announced his pledge via Twitter.

A transfer from Alabama, the 6-foot, 192-pounder is expected to be eligible to play for the Tigers this upcoming season as a graduate transfer.

Black was ranked as the 113th-best prospect and 19th-best wide receiver in the Class of 2012 by Scout.com when he picked the Crimson Tide over Florida State and others.

The 6-foot, 192-pounder from Jacksonville had 25 catches for 290 yards and two touchdowns in three seasons for Alabama before suffering a season-ending ankle injury last fall. He will have one year of eligibility remaining.

Black is the second wide receiver to commit to the Tigers in the past week, following the pledge of Saddleback (Calif.) College wideout Dominic Collins last week.

Those two should add some experience to Mizzou’s young group of receivers. The Tigers’ top two wideouts last season, redshirt sophomore J'Mon Moore and sophomore Nate Brown, combined for a total of 56 catches for 676 yards and seven touchdowns.
