Missouri Hoops Dismisses G Wes Clark

Missouri has dismissed junior guard Wes Clark for academic reasons.

The University of Missouri announced Tuesday afternoon that junior guard Wes Clark, the team’s second leading scorer, has been dismissed from the program for academic reasons.

“Wes Clark has failed to meet the academic expectations of Mizzou Athletics Department and is no longer a member of the men's basketball program,” the school announced in a statement. “Due to this issue relating to academics, Mizzou Athletics will have no further comment.”

The Tigers (9-16 overall, 2-10 in Southeastern Conference) host South Carolina (21-4, 8-4) on Tuesday evening at Mizzou Arena.

Clark, a 6-foot, 180-pound guard from Detroit, had started all 25 games this season and ranked second on the squad at 9.8 points per game and led the team with 26.5 minutes per game.

He also averaged 3.0 rebounds per game and was second on the team in assists (74) and steals (23) while providing a veteran presence in the backfield as the Tigers’ most experienced guard.
