Pompey Coleman Pledges To Mizzou

The University of Missouri added a commitment from Class of 2017 offensive lineman Pompey Coleman on Saturday.

The University of Missouri landed another commitment for 2017 on Saturday afternoon when Indianapolis offensive lineman Pompey Coleman pledged to the Tigers.

“First off, I want to say thank you to every coach that has contacted me and offered me,” Coleman posted on Twitter. “After a long and thought out process, I’ve decided to commit to the University of Missouri! I feel it’s the best fit for me as a student and an athlete. I’m looking forward to the next stage of my life!”

Coleman is a 6-foot-5, 275-pounder from Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis, Ind., rated as a 3-star prospect and the 43rd-best offensive tackle in the Class of 2017.

Scout.com evaluation of Coleman: “Very good athlete. Flexible, can bend and naturally moves around the field well for a kid with a bigger frame. Still has plenty of room to fill out and get stronger. Has the quickness and feet necessary for pass protection. Can slide and mirror defenders. Maybe not as tall as other tackle prospects, but athletic enough to still potentially play the left side. Good run blocker right now, but can still get stronger, particularly in his lower body to be more of a dominant presence in that department.”

Coleman is the third prospect from the Class of 2017 to make a verbal commitment to the Tigers, following Kansas City area wide receiver DaRon Davis and DeSoto, Texas offensive lineman Hyrin White
