Missouri Hoops Adds Another Commitment

Utah forward Jakoby Kemp becomes the sixth new addition in Missouri coach Kim Anderson's recruiting class.

Missouri basketball coach Kim Anderson told reporters on a Southeastern Conference conference call on Monday the Tigers weren’t finished recruiting for the 2016-17 season.

The coach was right.

The Tigers added another commitment on Tuesday from Jakoby Kemp, a 6-foot-9 forward from Layton, Utah.

Kemp, whose first name is Kedric but chooses to go by Jakoby, averaged 12.6 points and 6.6 rebounds per game during his senior season. His highlight film from his senior season shows his athleticism as well as his ability to knock down 3-pointers.

Kemp grew a couple inches over the past year, growing from about 6-5 to his current 6-9 frame. That makes him one of the taller players on Missouri’s roster for next season.

The Utah product becomes the sixth addition to Anderson’s most recent recruiting class, joining forwards Willie Jackson, Mitchell Smith and Reed Nikko and guards Frankie Hughes and Jordan Geist.
