With SEC Media Days only a few days away, the Southeastern Conference announced on Wednesday which student-athletes will be participating next week in Birmingham, Ala.
Scherer, a redshirt senior from St. Louis who is one of the Tigers' most experienced players, was second on the team in tackles a year ago with 93, including nine for losses. He was also credited with three pass break-ups and two quarterback hurries and also recovered a fumble. He had 114 tackles in 2014, his first year as a starter.
Harris, a redshirt junior from Kansas City, was a second-team All-Southeastern Conference seletion last season after racking up a league-best 18.5 tackles for loss to go along with 56 tackles and seven sacks, which tied for the team high. A 6-foot-3, 255-pounder, Harris was recently named to the preseason watch list for the Chuck Bednarik Award, given annually to the best defensive player in college football.
Culkin, a redshirt senior from Florida, caught 16 passes for 139 yards and one touchdown in 10 games in 2015, his second season as the Tigers' starter. In three seasons he has 37 receptions for 319 yards and two touchdowns.
