Brooks and his Bessemer (Al.) City High School teammate, defensive tackle Jhalin Witherspoon, were among the visitors this past weekend for the Tigers’ ‘Night At The Zou’ event.
The linebacker already had a scholarship offer from Missouri, but the visit opened his eyes about the possibility of playing for the Tigers. On Tuesday night, Brooks made a verbal commitment to Mizzou.
“It was a pretty fun camp,” Brooks told BlackAndGoldIllustrated.com at the conclusion of the ‘Night At The Zou’ camp. “I got to come out and compete like never before. It’s my first trip up to Missouri and it was a memorable one. That counts a lot.”
“This is a trip that has my thinking,” Brooks said on Saturday. “Of course I have to talk it over with my parents and my coaches, get more in depth on Missouri itself, but it’s going to weigh in pretty heavy. It’s going to weigh in pretty heavy.”
Brooks became the Tigers’ fourth verbal commitment following the ‘Night At The Zou’ event — following Class of 2017 offensive lineman Larry Borom and wide receiver Roderick Ford and Class of 2018 defensive tackle Daniel Parker — and the Tigers’ eighth pledge for their 2017 recruiting class.
