FLORISSANT, Mo. — Hazelwood Central opened the season with a 26-14 win over visiting De Smet on Saturday.
Hazelwood Central senior quarterback Antonio Triplett Jr. threw for 108 yards, with two interceptions, and ran for 80 yards and three touchdowns. Junior wide receiver-safety Dallas Craddieth, who has scholarship offers from Missouri, Iowa and Wisconsin, had four receptions for 89 yards and a touchdown. Linebacker Jordan Carey, who recently committed to Yale, had seven tackles in the victory.
