It's a marriage made in Tiger sports heaven. The unparalleled magazine exclusively dedicated to providing sports commentary on Mizzou athletics has combined with one of the most mature, passionate Internet communities committed to the Tigers.
Yes, Mizzou Illustrated and Supermizzou.net have combined under one banner, "InsideMizzou."
Our goal is simple: To provide Missouri fans the best coverage of Tiger athletics in print and on the Internet.
Obviously, the two mediums are dramatically different. The Internet is an unprecedented way to access information in a timely fashion. InsideMizzou.com will be your source for daily updates and stories from Columbia, as well a wealth of information, opinion and debate on the message boards. Our website is moderated by four of the most passionate Missouri fans around: drecar (member's board), Rocky59 (football boards), Stu Black (basketball boards), and RagingKeeger (baseball and fantasy sports boards). These gentlemen are on the boards daily and keep the discussion informative, lively and on-point. Our message boards are kept free of "flaming" and irresponsible rumor mongering that is common on other sites on the Internet. InsideMizzou.com also features periodic chat sessions for its subscribers with influential and knowledgeable guests such as Mike Alden, Danny Heitert and Tiger players from the past. This Tiger Internet community has existed for over five years as Supermizzou.net, and we are committed to uphold the same high standards as we go through the merger process.
InsideMizzou magazine provides a different forum to provide stories and perspectives that extend well beyond the breaking news format of the Internet. We will feature in-depth analysis of the Tiger football and basketball teams, its players and coaches, as well as other sports teams within the Tiger sports family. We will also have a lot of fun reporting to you about former Mizzou athletes and where their lives have taken them since leaving Columbia. Finally, InsideMizzou magazine will provide the best recruiting analysis on Missouri football and basketball prospects found anywhere.
InsideMizzou magazine will publish 10 times per year in the slick, new format you are currently holding in your hands. Forget the old tabloids you were used to receiving from Mizzou Illustrated. We have done away with that model. We are committed to delivering the best college magazine in the country and will spare no expense to make this a reality.
Recruiting is a big part of what we are about, both as a website and a magazine. InsideMizzou.com will have regular contributions from regional and national experts, Josh Clark, Dave Telep, Danny Heitert and JP Rock. We will cover key football and basketball camps around the nation and in our region. Our website is part of TheInsiders.com exclusive Scout Database, which is the most comprehensive recruiting tracking tool of its kind in existence today. The Scout Database allows users to search for both football and basketball recruits by several different criteria. We know you will find it to be an excellent resource. When the recruiting seasons get hot and heavy, you can find the latest commitments and updates on recruiting visits at InsideMizzou.com.
InsideMizzou is also proud of our editorial staff and contributors. Scott Schumacher, Tom Wyrwich, Scott Cruce, Chris Miller, Alan Goforth, Don Crim and Danny Heitert form an excellent core group of writers for the magazine and website. Since we live in such a visually oriented society, InsideMizzou also has Sarah Becking, who is our talented chief photographer and photo editor for our magazine.
It has become a rallying cry of Missouri fans recently, especially those who post on the Internet, "It has never been a better time to be a Tiger!" Indeed if you look at Gary Pinkel's young, talented football team, and Quin Snyder's basketball juggernaut, there are ample reasons to believe this slogan. However, adding to the excitement in Columbia and around the state are the new enhancements to Memorial Stadium, including the new FieldTurf surface which adorns Faurot Field. The football program is also expanding their weight room again , making it among the finest facilities of its kind in the nation. The new basketball arena has also captured the imagination of young and old Tiger fans alike. It has been great watching it spring from the ground and start to take shape.
Missouri is entering a new Golden Age with its athletic programs. The facilities have improved and are getting even better, the coaching staffs are excellent and committed to academic and athletic success, and the athletic department and the school's administration are on the same page. InsideMizzou magazine and InsideMizzou.com are thrilled to be a part of this Missouri renaissance.
Your feedback is important to us. Feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org with your comments, or visit us online at www.Insidemizzou.com to join our Tiger community.
