TOWN and COUNTRY, Mo. — CBC trailed by 13 points in the first half against visiting Chaminade but rallied to win 33-20 on Friday night behind strong performances from junior wide receivers Cameron Brown and Kamryn Babb.
Brown, who has offers from Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, Iowa State and Cincinnati, finished with five catches for 147 yards and two touchdowns. Babb, whose impressive offer list includes Ohio State, LSU, Arkansas, Nebraska and Missouri, had a long touchdown run called back early but finished with three catches for 58 yards and a touchdown and 63 yards rushing and a touchdown on five carries. Sophomore quarterback Brett Gabbert, who has attracted early interest from Missouri, completed 15 of 22 passes for 272 yards and three touchdowns. CBC improved to 3-1.
Chaminade, which fell to 3-1, has a talent-filled roster led by junior defensive tackle Trevor Trout, senior wide receiver Reggie Crawford, junior offensive lineman Marcus Greer, senior running back Darius Daies and senior quarterback Michael McGovern. Trout, the No. 89 prospect in the Class of 2018, has an offer list that includes Missouri, Nebraska, Iowa, Tennessee, Texas A&M and UCLA.
