Video: Missouri Wide Receiver Johnathon Johnson Meets The Media

Missouri redshirt freshman wide receiver Johnathon Johnson scored two touchdowns vs. Eastern Michigan.

COLUMBIA, Mo. — Johnathon Johnson impressed the Missouri Tigers' coaching staff with his explosiveness throughout fall camp.

On Saturday, the Tigers' redshirt freshman wide receiver showed everybody else what he was capable of. Johnson had five catches for 115 yards and a touchdown and also returned a punt for a score in the Tigers' 61-21 rout of visiting Eastern Michigan at Memorial Stadium.

"He has got playmaking ability and continues to work and develop his skill set," Missouri coach Barry Odom said. "The things he did on the field tonight he does in practice on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. It's important to him that he is a total package player, having the ability to not only play out wide, but to return punts and block. He is only going to get better."
