2018 Standout Dallas Craddieth Recaps Mizzou Visit, Talks Future Plans

St. Louis area standout Dallas Craddieth visited Missouri last weekend and added a new offer on Friday morning.

It took some time for Hazelwood Central High School Class of 2018 standout Dallas Craddieth to finally get to his first college football game.

Craddieth, a wide receiver-safety with five scholarship offers, got a chance to check out one of the schools that has offered him, Missouri, when the Tigers hosted Georgia on Saturday night.

“I got there kind of late — I had a game that day — but I liked it,” Craddieth told “They really showed they can compete with teams in their conference despite the early season loss they had.”

It also turns out it was the first college football game he’s ever attended.

Craddieth has been a prospect for the past two and a half seasons — he had 48 tackles and four interceptions for the Hawks’ varsity squad as a freshman — but his high school squad doesn’t play many games on Fridays, which made it difficult to get to college games on Saturday afternoons.

“The schedules didn’t really work out,” Craddieth said. “Most of our conference games are on Saturdays.”

So what did he think?

“It was fun,” Craddieth said. “It was different from like going to see some of my friends play on Friday nights and seeing the big crowds they play in at their schools. It was a whole lot different. The atmosphere, it was just different. Like real hyped.”

It probably won’t be long until Craddieth gets to another game. It may happen as soon as next Saturday, Oct. 1.

“Next week we have a Friday night game so I was trying to see what games I could possibly go to on Saturday. I’m still trying to work that out, to see what game I could go to next Saturday.”

Craddieth said this summer Iowa and Missouri were his top two schools — but there’s still plenty of time left before he makes a decision and he still needs to check out the other schools involved with his recruitment.

He also wants to check out Wisconsin and Memphis, the other two schools that made up his first four offers, to see what those schools are like.

Another school joined the mix on Friday morning when Craddieth received an offer from Illinois

“It’s a blessing, another opportunity plus one that’s not too far from home,” Craddieth said.
