Quarterback Reyondous Estes contributed with his arm and his legs as visiting East St. Louis (Ill.) High School beat Edwardsville (Ill.) High School 20-10 on Friday night in a battle of unbeaten squads.
Estes completed 12 of 20 passes for 154 yards and ran eight times for 50 yards and a touchdown as the Flyers improved to 6-0.
For the season, Estes has completed 58 of 115 passes (50.4 percent) for 1,079 yards, with 10 touchdowns and three interceptions, and run for 248 yards and two touchdowns.
Whitehaven improved to 7-0 on the season.
Joshuah Bledsoe returned a kickoff for a touchown but his Dekaney (Houston, Texas) High School squad lost 37-7 against Westfield High School (Houston) on Friday night.
Blesdoe, a cornerback, added three tackles in the loss for Dekaney, which fell to 1-4 on the season.
Southwest improved to 3-2 on the season.
Offensive lineman Hyrin White and his De Soto (Texas) High School squad continued their undefeated season with a 48-7 win over visiting MacArthur High School (Irving, Texas).
De Soto (5-0) racked up 489 yards of total offense (249 rushing, 240 receiving). Six different players scored touchdowns.
Carrollton racked up 373 yards of total offense, including 260 through the air, but Rome pulled away with 17 unanswered points in the second half for the win.
Wide receiver Da'Ron Davis and his Lee’s Summit (Mo.) North squad lost at Blue Springs 21-0 on Friday night.
Davis had eight catches for 65 yards and added a 6-yard run for Lee’s Summit North, which fell to 1-6 on the season with the loss.
Desert Ridge (5-1) has now won five straight games since losing its season opener. The Jaguars surrendered the first touchdown on Friday and then responded with 41 unanswered points.
Offensive lineman Larry Borom and his Brother Rice (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) team fell to 3-3 on the season with a 21-0 loss to St. Mary Prep (Orchard Lake, Mich.) on Saturday night.
Borom was credited with one tackle the loss.
Middle linebacker Jamal Brooks and his Bessemer (Ala.) City High School squad were off this week.
Bessemer City (4-2) will face McAdory (3-3) this Friday.
Ben Davis (Indianapolis, Ind.) High School offensive lineman Pompey Coleman is out for the season after suffering a broken leg in his team’s second game.

Junior defensive lineman Josh Smith and his Landry-Walker High School (New Orleans, La.) squad improved to 3-2 with a 59-0 win against visiting Bonnabel (Kenner, La.) on Friday night.
