Anderson, a 6-foot-3, 255-pounder at New Mexico Military Institute, helps solidify a position of need just days after Charles Harris announced he was leaving Missouri one year early for the NFL Draft.
In nine games this season, Anderson was credited with 31 tackles, five tackles and one fumble recovery.
Anderson arrived at Missouri for his official visit on Friday without a scholarship offer in hand from the Tigers. The Mizzou coaching staff must have liked what they saw from him in person because they extended the offer and Anderson quickly accepted.
The Toronto native, who played high school football in Alabama, becomes the 16th confirmed commitment for Barry Odom’s 2017 recruiting class and the third defensive commit this week following Texas cornerback Terry Petry and JUCO defensive tackle Rashad Brandon.
Anderson is the second defensive end commitment, following Louisiana defensive end Chris Turner, in this class.
