La CB Adam Sparks Commits to Missouri

Three-star cornerback Adam Sparks becomes the 20th commitment in the 2017 class for Missouri.

The Missouri Tigers’ 2017 recruiting class got a Christmas present.

Lousiana cornerback Adam Sparks, who recently recommitted from Vanderbilt, announced via Twitter he was committing to Barry Odom’s Tigers.

“I would like to thank God for allowing me to have the opportunity I have been blessed with, and greatly appreciate all of the schools that have shown me interest,” Sparks wrote. “I would like to say that I am 100% committed to the University of Missouri, and I am closing my recruitment!”

Sparks, a 5-foot-11, 173-pounder from Dutchtown High School in Geismar, La., becomes the 20th commitment in the 2017 recruiting class for the Tigers.

The three-star prospect is the eighth defensive prospect in this class and the second cornerback commitment, following Terry Petry from Ridge Point High School in Missouri City, Texas, which strengthens a position of need for Missouri with two starters graduating.

Sparks committed to Vanderbilt months ago but looked at other options over the past few weeks. He took official visits to Wake Forest and Missouri and then announced his decommitment from Vandy on Dec. 16, just a few days after his visit to Missouri.
