Jafar Armstrong Decommits From Missouri

Three-star wide receiver Jafar Armstrong decommitted from Missouri on Sunday morning.

Wide receiver Jafar Armstrong, who had been committed to Missouri since mid June, announced via Twitter on Sunday he was decommitting and opening up his recruiting process.

Armstrong, who took official visits to Minnesota and Notre Dame the past two weekends, wrote the following note:

A three-star prospect, Armstrong committed to the Tigers in June after receiving a scholarship offer following a strong showing at one of Missouri’s satellite camps.

“Oh man, it’s great,” Armstrong said after receiving that offer. “Mizzou has always been one of my favorite schools. Hometown school. I’ve always had a dream of playing for them, so to finally get an offer is crazy.”

Armstrong officially visited Missouri in early December but received increased recruiting attention late in the process after other schools missed out on recruiting targets.

Iowa, Minnesota, Baylor and Notre Dame all offered Armstrong scholarships and Minnesota and Notre Dame were able to convince him to take official visits.

Armstrong was in the final hours of his visit to Notre Dame on Sunday morning when he announced his decommitment.
