Barry Odom and the Missouri Tigers weren’t done adding players to their recruiting class when the coach met with reporters this afternoon.
Not long after Odom wrapped up his Signing Day press conference, the Tigers received a letter of intent from Eastern Arizona College defensive tackle Walter Palmore, who committed two days earlier.
A few hours later, Palmore’s Eastern Arizona teammate, Malik Young made it official when the defensive tackle announced he’d be joining his teammate as a member of the Tigers.
Young (and Palmore) took their official visits to Missouri over the final weekend before Signing Day, right after Young visited Florida officially.
A 6-foot-3, 285-pounder from Georgia, Young became Missouri’s 25th signee for the 2017 recruiting class. He recorded 65 tackles and 2.5 sacks as a sophomore at Eastern Arizona this past season. He'll have two years of eligibility remaining with the Tigers.
Young is the fifth defensive tackle in Missouri’s recruiting class, following Palmore, JUCO transfer Rashad Brandon and high schoolers Kobie Whiteside and Caleb Sampson. Young, Palmore, Sampson and Whiteside all announced their commitments this week.
