Missouri hires new player development director

Josh Berger had been taking care of the Missouri basketball players' development for three years. As Berger has left to pursue his dream of coaching, Quin Snyder has hired a new director.

Basketball coach Quin Snyder announced today that Omar Parker will be taking over as the Missouri men's basketball director of player development.

"This is a great opportunity for me to work with some of the best student-athletes in the country on a daily basis," Parker said. "I truly appreciate the opportunity that Coach Snyder has given me and I look forward to the upcoming season."

Parker, who was a volunteer administrative assistant for the team, replaces Josh Berger, who left Missouri to coach boys' basketball at Pace Academy in Atlanta.

"Omar has been a great asset to our program and I am confident that he will continue to develop in every capacity," Snyder said.

According to the press release, the Missouri player development program "focuses on the areas of performance enhancement and academic, professional and personal development."
