Kevin Young Commits to Mizzou

Missouri wrapped up it's summer-fall recruiting class for 2002 with the commitment of 6-9 power forward Kevin Young from Florida.

Kevin Young came down to a decision between Miami and Missouri and chose the Tigers on Monday afternoon according to his head coach Rolando DeLaBarrera.

That brings the Tigers class of 2002 to three known commitments including:

  • 6-4 combo guard Jimmy McKinney from St. Louis Vashon
  • 7-2 Lithuanian forward/center Giedrius Rinkevicius
  • 6-9 power forward Kevin Young from Homestead, Florida, Berkshire High

Missouri should have another scholarship available in the spring if Kareem Rush makes good on his plans to make himself available for the NBA draft next year.

Of course, the Tigers may choose to save that scholarship to use on a very talented 2003 class in the state of Missouri and elsewhere.
