Paulding wins player of the week

Rickey Paulding has been leading the Tigers through a six-game winning streak, and on Monday, the Big 12 awarded him as last week's best player.

Rickey Paulding had one of the year's most amazing dunks, one of the year's best halves and one of the year's best games in one week.

That amazing week ended with the honor of Big 12 Player of the Week, which the league announced Monday.

Paulding, who has been all over sports shows with his dunk on Kansas State's Frank Richards, scored 31 points in 45 minutes in Missouri's 93-92 double-overtime win against Oklahoma State last Tuesday. Add 17 from Saturday's game against Kansas State, all in a second-half outburst, and it comes to 24 points per game in this past week's two games.

In the Tigers' six-game winning streak, Paulding, a preseason All-American, has scored 17.3 points per game and he has made 51.6 percent of his 3-pointers.
