Who is Ghaali Muhammad?
While many Missouri Tiger fans may not be familiar with him, that might not be the case after this weekend.
InsideMizzou.com has confirmed with the talented running back's head football coach Tony Vudik of St Joseph Missouri Central High School that Muhammad will be taking an official visit to Missouri this weekend.
"Yes Ghaali will be taking an official visit to Missouri this weekend, he went to Wyoming last weekend," Coach Vudik said. "Missouri was going to offer him this spring, but he didn't have his test score, he recently got a good test score back so he will visit this weekend."
Going back to the first question on who Muhammad is, he is a 5-foot-11, 205-pound running back/defensive back who runs a 4.48 forty. He was recently named Offensive player of the year for the St. Joseph News/Press.
The talented athlete rushed for over 1,200 yards this past season for a 6.6 yard per carry average and scored 14 touchdowns. He added another 246 yards in receptions and another two scores.
"He is a very talented and gifted athlete," Coach Vudik said. "He is a big physical kid that can run. He is very gifted on both sides of the ball; he can play either at the next level very well."
Muhammad went on an official visit to Wyoming last week and according to Coach Vudik, former Missouri offensive coordinator Dave Christensen wants Muhammad to play running back for the Cowboys.
"Right now it seems like Wyoming wants him on offense at running back and Missouri may be recruiting him for the defensive side of the ball," Coach Vudik said. "It will all depend on what side of the ball he wants to play on, but I feel that Missouri probably would give him a chance on offense also."
According to Vudik, he feels that Missouri may extend an official offer this weekend.
"I hope they offer him this weekend while on the visit," Coach Vudik said. "I wouldn't be surprised if he committed while on the trip. He loves Missouri, he has always wanted to play there, and he always followed his cousin Martin Rucker while he played there."
According to the veteran coach, Muhammad is very familiar with the Tigers.
"He has been going to camp there for the last few years," Coach Vudik said. "He was a three year starter for us on the defensive side of the ball in a tough Big 7 conference out of Kansas City."
Now Tiger fans know a little more on whom Muhammad is, he may very well be the next Tiger to commit.
