Keeping the best talent in state is something that Gary Pinkel and coaching staff works hard on improving each recruiting year.
The veteran coaching staff makes impressions and in roads recruiting the Show Me State by making relationships with high school coaches, working closely with under classmen prospects that attends the Tiger's summer camp program.
One of the state's top running backs in 2010 appears to be Potosi High School's Brandon Bourbon.
Bourbon, who rushed for over 2,400 yards and 29 touchdowns his junior season, is a running back of good size and outstanding speed. According to Bourbon he is 6-foot-2, 205-pounds, and consistency runs a 4.4 forty. He earned First team All Conference, All Region and All State honors.
"I have been clocked at 4.36 this past fall," Bourbon told InsideMizzou.com Sunday night. "We had a good season last year going 8-3. I think we will even be better this fall."
Bourbon currently has no official offers but has interest in one particular program.
"I like Missouri a lot," Bourbon said. "I went to three games last year, I love the atmosphere, the coaching staff and their offensive system."
Bourbon attended one of the Tiger summer camps last year and plans on going again this upcoming camp season.
"I have enjoyed going to summer camps at Missouri, it give you a chance to get the coaching staff a lot better," Bourbon said. "It also gives the coaching staff a chance to see my talents and abilities."
