Standout Liberty wide receiver and 2010 prospect Marcus Lucas enjoyed his junior day experience Saturday.
"It was really nice." said Lucas. "I got to talk to coach Pinkel and coach Hill a little more, and to players and stuff. I got good feedback."
So what exactly happens on junior day? "You walk through all the coaches and shake their hands." said Lucas. "Some of the higher recruited guys get a chance to talk to Pinkel one-on-one with their parents and stuff."
Lucas, a four-star recruit, was among those who got face time with Pinkel. "He was just saying how I could see myself in their program and what my role would be with the team," said Lucas "and the importance of an in-state recruit going to their college."
Pinkel has made keeping top-quality Missourians in-state a high priority since arriving at Mizzou, and Lucas very well may end up being the highest 2010 recruit the Show-Me State has to offer.
"We got to tour the facilities, and they were pretty nice." Lucas said.
While Lucas said he is no closer to making his commitment now than he was prior to junior day, he did take something away from the experience.
"It's just reassuring that they still want me, and knowing that it would not be a bad decision to attend the University of Missouri." Lucas said.
While he spent his Saturday on Mizzou's campus, the Tigers weren't the only ones trying to woo Lucas, as he picked up an official offer from Nebraska.
Marcus already holds an offer from Missouri, he is one of about eight offers that have been extended so far by the Tigers.
