Earl Hines is a name that Missouri fans should remember.

A linebacker out of South Texas, recently received an official offer from the Tigers. Does he have interest in Mizzou?

"They are a great school," Hines told InsideMizzou.com recently in an interview. "They have had several Texas players on their rosters that have had great careers like Chase Daniel and Sean Weatherspoon."

In fact Weatherspoon who is also from that area is a well known name, the Hines name is expected to be well known before his career is over.

"I'm a linebacker that loves to hit and I bring a lot of speed and attitude to the ball," Hines explained. "I know Mizzou has an offensive reputation but I would love to help them have a defensive reputation as well."

Hines hopes to check out the campus over the spring or summer and get a chance first hand to see what the excitement is all about on the Columbia campus.

"I want to check out Missouri for sure," Hines said. "I have a lot of interest in them."

Currently Hines has offers from the University of Houston, Texas Tech, Kansas State and Missouri.

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound outside linebacker runs the forty in 4.6 seconds and made over 130 tackles his sophomore season and 80 tackles this season after missing three ballgames. His efforts were still good enough to earn him First team All-District Honors for his Port Arthur Memorial football team.

Does Hines have an early favorite?

"I would have to say Florida, OU and Texas would be my early leaders," Hines said. "Missouri is right up there and they have offered me.",/p>
