Salazar enjoys Mizzou Junior Day

Missouri Junior Day last month attracted over 250 top athletes from all over the Show Me State as well as Oklahoma and Kansas area. One of those Juniors that attended was Lee's Summit High School athlete Chase Salazar. Go inside to see what Chase had to say about Mizzou, and where the Tigers rank with him.

Chase Salazar, the 6-foot-4 junior from Lee's Summit, Missouri, lives near the border of Kansas and Missouri.

He has a certain admiration and respect for both athletic programs, but today while speaking with, Salazar said that the University of Missouri is at the top of his interest list.

Salazar attended Missouri's junior day and took in plenty from his experience.

"It was fun. I like the way they ran their program a lot," he said. "I got to see a lot of the videos of players and the main plays they ran."

The 210 pound recruit played defensive end, outside linebacker and wide receiver during his junior season, but is also being recruited as a fullback at the next level.

Although no offers have come through yet, Salazar is drawing some attention from several schools. "I've had a few visits from Missouri Southern and Central Missouri." Chase said with confidence. "I have been in contact with coach (Andy) Hill, and he said that he knew about me."

Aside from Missouri, the versatile junior from Lee's Summit named a few other schools he shows interest in. "Mid-west schools mostly. Central Missouri, Missouri State, Northwest Missouri State, Missouri Southern," and of course Big XII North rivals, "Kansas State, and KU."

Though Chase has not been to Faurot Field yet, he plans on changing that soon. "I hope to go to the Black and Gold game this spring," said the Tiger fan. Maybe by 2010 he will find himself wearing the Black and Gold that he has rooted for his entire life.
