Missouri's head coach Gary Pinkel and his coaching staff are making the linemen position for the Tiger's a major priority.
Scherff confirmed with InsideMizzou.com that he indeed has an offer and interest in the University of Missouri.
"I called and spoke to Coach Andy Hill, he told me I had an offer and the official one will be coming in the mail soon," Scherff said. "It feels good getting all of these offers; it shows my hard work is starting to pay off."
At 6-foot-6 and 280-pounds, the talented athlete played quarterback for his high school team his entire sophomore season and four games into his junior season before moving to tight end and defensive end.
"All the colleges are recruiting me as an offensive lineman," Scherff said. "I hope to take some unofficial visits to all the schools that have offered me including one to Missouri."
Does Scherff have an early favorite?
"Right now I would have to say I like Iowa a lot," Scherff said. "I have gotten to know their coaches better than any of the rest of the schools."
Scherff is looking for a school that has a good academic reputation and somewhere he gets a long with the coaching staff.
"I will probably make a decision sometime during the summer or before fall practice begins," Scherff said. "Right now I just want to finish checking out several schools before making a final decision."
