One of Missouri's top athletes increased his stock this past weekend when he represented the Show Me State in a recent 7-on-7 Tournament held at Ohio State.
Middle linebacker Ben Eskelsen of Ballwin Parkway West High School turned in a stellar performance, coming up with three interceptions in the three day tournament.
"I did pretty well," Eskelsen told InsideMizzou.com Tuesday. "We won the entire tournament; we really represented Missouri and Kansas and showed everyone what kind of athletes we have here. The way we played and winning the tournament made the trip well worth it."
Eskelsen, a 6-foot-1, 240-pound middle linebacker, currently has no official offers. That may change after the videos of the tournament make it to college coaches. The talented defender finished his junior season with over 105 tackles and one interception.
There is one school that Eskelsen has a lot of interest in.
"I have a lot of interest in Missouri," Eskelsen said. "I like where the program is headed, it's becoming one of the dominant programs in the Big 12."
Eskelsen attended four ballgames last year and attended the Tigers Junior Day in January. He plans on going to camp in Columbia this summer.
Does the middle linebacker have an early favorite?
"Mizzou, Nebraska and Kansas are my top three," Eskelsen said. "Hopefully Mizzou is close to offering me."
