For one of Missouri's top high school running backs, this past week has been a very busy one.

Missouri standout athlete Brandon Bourbon of Potosi participated in two camps so far this week with another on Sunday.

"It's been a hectic week," Bourbon told InsideMizzou.com Saturday. "I didn't perform at Tennessee and probably won't run tomorrow at the Mizzou camp."

Bourbon pulled a hamstring in Missouri's state track meet last weekend causing the star running back only to watch the action in Knoxville on Tuesday.

"It was really hard to sit there and watch all the athletes competing, I wanted to compete," Bourbon said. "I got the chance to say to a few of their coaches, they got a chance to see me in person."

Bourbon participated in Saturday's Nike Camp in Champaign Illinois but wasn't at full speed.

"We didn't test today there," Bourbon said. "It went well, I enjoyed the camp."

Bourbon will participate in Mizzou's St. Louis camp on Sunday.

"I'm excited about it," Bourbon said. "I like Missouri, I wished they had offered me earlier, I probably would already be committed to them. Since they waited so late it's open my eyes to a lot of other schools."

Bourbon currently has offers from Missouri, Kansas, Vanderbilt, Stanford and BYU.

"I enjoyed the Tennessee camp, it was nice there, very well organized," Bourbon said. "There were a lot of great athletes especially wide receivers and defensive backs there."
