Murphy committed to the Tigers following Saturday's practice. As the team huddled around Coach Pinkel, he gave each of the visiting recruits an opportunity for an introduction. Marcus spoke up at that time, informing Coach Pinkel that he "just wanted to be a Tiger". That announcement drew an immediate cheer from the team!
Marcus talked about how he felt that he fit right in on his visit. "It was fun. I got to see the practice, you know how fast and intense it was. And, I got to spend some time with some players. We all had a fun time together. It seemed like a real brotherhood. I liked it."
Murphy had previously expressed a willingness to commit to Missouri if he liked what he saw on his visit. He seemed to immediately bond with his future teammates, although he hadn't previously known them.
He said that he "met a lot of (the other) recruits", and that they "were all together, and had a lot of fun".
Murphy responded to my question regarding what position he'll play at Missouri. "They're recruiting me as an athlete, and they said that I will start off at the RB position. But they said that I may switch. I might play receiver, or I might play defensive back. We'll see how it goes when I get there."
Murphy is an excellent student, and expects to arrive in Columbia next June
